Materials And Characteristics
13: Rapid temperature changes.
The humidity change test simulates the actual use of aviation plug equipment from cold environment to warm environment, or simulates the sudden change of ambient temperature of spacecraft and probe. Sudden changes in temperature may cause cracking or delamination of J-shaped edge materials.
14: Atmospheric pressure
At high altitudes with thin air, plastics emit gases to pollute the contact pairs, increase the tendency of corona generation, reduce the withstand voltage, and cause short circuit failures in the circuit. When it reaches a certain value at high altitudes, the performance of plastics becomes worse. Therefore, when unsealed aviation plugs are used in high altitude areas, bx will be derated. The recommended voltage derating factor under low air pressure is shown in the table.
15: Corrosive environment
Depending on the different corrosive environments of aviation plugs, aviation plugs with corresponding metal, plastic, and coating structures, such as those used in salt spray environments, will deteriorate rapidly if there is no anti-corrosion metal surface. In environments with considerable concentrations of SO2, it is not recommended to use aviation plugs with silver-plated contact pairs. In hot and humid environments, mold is also an important problem.
