Connector Hood/Housing is widely used in AC and DC eight-axle electric locomotives. It is mainly composed of supporting porcelain bottles, cover assembly, horns, bellows, mandrels, crosshead assembly, locks, etc., as shown in Figure 1. Its main function is to achieve reliable connection of the high-voltage circuits on the roofs of sections A and B of the eight-axle electric locomotive, and can be controlled in the driver's cab to avoid dangerous roof operations. In mass production, it occasionally happens that two docked high-voltage connectors cannot be docked again after separation.
